Day 20 - Off to Lake Issyk Kul Descent from Altyn Arashan The homestay served us…

Day 19 - Altyn Arashan
Nico, Justine, and I checked out and departed for Altyn Arashan this morning. We popped over to lighthouse cafe for an excellent coffee before grabbing the 105 to Ack Suu, however, the driver was kind enough to leave us right at the entrance of the trail to Altyn Arashan.
The trail itself started easy enough, with a path that resembles a 4x4 treck however, it gradually got steeper and steeper. In addition, the sun was totally beating down which made us break more often. We made it in just over 4 hours. A 15 km trek is no pushover.
We checked in to Eco yurt bed and breakfast. Quite a comfy big yurt including proper beds this time. They were quite roomy and combined with the mountainous wild backdrop, gave out a nomadic Central Asian feel.
It was said that the outdoor natural hot spring was not that hot and accommodating at the moment, so Nico and I checked out the indoor ones for just 100som. It was pretty hot!
For dinner at the homestay there was potato and mutton stew, as well as some salad and tea. The highlight of the dinner was the clumsy Chinese dude next to us in his sports suit.
A couple of British guys joined us as well. Wearing Adidas designer clothes and enough hair product to fill a bucket, one of them looked a bit horrified by the sight of the humble and homely setting of this remote bed and breakfast.
